On Tuesday 17 December at 10 am, a Soyouz launch onboarding the “Eyesat” cubesat carried by the CNES and students from ISAE (Institut Supérieur de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace) took place.

This cubesat will study zodiacal light and take images of the Milky Way.

The CILAS Aubagne team use the PACA2M platform to carry out the black coatings of the lens baffles (flight models delivered in March 2019). If the mission is successful, the black coatings performed by CILAS will be considered TRL 9 level.

A word from Alain Gaboriaud project leader at CNES

The satellite's flight model was integrated between January and May of this year. We then successfully carried out the environmental tests in June before starting system tests and preparing for the campaign in French Guiana. The campaign ran smoothly from 25 November to 2 December. The satellite is now mounted on the launcher interface and ready to go into space!
